Research and practice indicate that efforts to integrate technology successfully into education must go beyond slapping a netbook on top of a textbook. Successful strategic planning must also include looking at how time can be used differently to improve teaching, learning, and student outcomes.

Please join the Alliance for Excellent Education for a webinar on Thursday, May 24, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. (ET), that will feature educators who have seen technology change the use of time in teaching. Jon Bergmann from the Joseph Sears school will explain how a “flipped classroom” is making a difference for student learning. Leslie Fetzer, the 2012 SREB/iNACOL National Online Teacher of the Year, will provide insight on being an online teacher and how her job has become one that keeps her busy 24/7. Participants will also hear about how many afterschool programs are turning to technology to increase student engagement and outcomes, and hear about one school that is seeing unexpected results.  The webinar will address a wide range of ways that time can be examined differently and how digital tools can facilitate that process. Panelists will also address questions submitted by viewers from across the country.

This webinar is made possible with support from Carnegie Corporation of New York.

Please direct questions concerning the webinar to alliance@all4ed.org.
