Panelists
Julie Evans, Chief Executive Officer, Project Tomorrow
A Special Student Panel

The Alliance for Excellent Education (Alliance) is pleased to announce its monthly webinar series on a broad array of digital learning topics. This series will build upon the themes of Digital Learning Day, celebrate effective instructional practices, and highlight successful uses of digital learning in classrooms. The first webinar of the series featured the voices of those who need support and adequate preparation to succeed in the global workforce: students.

The Alliance held a webinar on April 23 featuring Julie Evans, president and chief executive officer of Project Tomorrow, and students who have participated in—and benefitted from—a variety of learning experiences that were enhanced by the innovative use of digital technology.

Viewers heard about a school district outside of Houston, Texas, where an international business project was enhanced by cross-curriculum efforts and a partnership with FedEx. Viewers also heard about a pilot science program in Baltimore, Maryland; a credit-recovery program in a rural county; project-based learning; and virtual field trips. Ms. Evans, who has years of experience drawing out the power of student voices in education, served as a special guest moderator. She and the other panelists also addressed questions submitted by viewers from across the country.
